LG Display is going to present at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas prototype collapsible tube in OLED-display. Visitors will show the first world's 18-inch display that can fold like a newspaper, according to a press release from the manufacturer.

The screens of OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) using OLEDs. The devices based on this technology have a high image clarity and color saturation, as well as a higher contrast ratio compared with liquid crystal counterparts.

Details about the new folding display will be opened in the coming days. It is expected that one of the main applications of the device will be used as a secondary screen for compact mobile devices such as smartphones.

Display technologies are often the center of attention at the exhibition CES. In 2010, Sprint's Skiff and demonstrated a prototype flexible display devices for use in e-book reader. And three years ago on the same event, LG Display has introduced the world's first 55-inch OLED-TV.

According to the American television channel Fox News, the other novelties of LG Display within CES 2016 will be the 65- and 77-inch OLED-TV ultra-high resolution (UHD) and a prototype 55-inch OLED-TV panel thickness of a sheet of paper. The company will also show curved OLED-displays a diagonal of 65 inches and a laptop-tablet with a diagonal of 11.6 inches.
